Chandra, nice to see I finally talked you into coming over here...see, I told you...much, much friendlier people!

The Hot and Humid days have returned to Wisconsin....Milwaukee can't even beat the heat...there was NO lake breeze today! Temperatures reached 88* at Mitchell Airport. Where's the ice cream truck when you need it? Currently in Milwaukee temperature at 8:30pm is 77* Tuesday's weather in MKE is forecasted to reach 90*

Well, we purchased some of the equipment for the balloonsat payload...Some businesses were local, while other businesses were based in the East Coast. Surprisingly, we may be finished by the end of the week!!! We are still in the process of determining a launch location, date and time...that information will come shortly, once we have everything ironed out.

USAF Reserves update...enlistment will be Wednesday at 11am! I'm not that nervous yet, but I'm sure it will hit me sooner or later. '

Josh....give yourself a little R & R. Do what you can...don't push it. Take your time, relax, elevate your ankle, and have an ice bag on it.

Welcome to the Porch, and, Storm2K, Chandra! You can
pull you up a chair, here, and, enjoy the great company!
Occasionally, we are treated to lemonade and KK's - and,
look out for Crouton - the pot-bellied piggie who loves KK's
and other sweet treats! :D

Evening friends!!

Geesh, where o' where did my day go today, if anyone has seen my monday please let me know, there are some things I still need to do!!

Rather nice day it was, warm and a tad bit on the humid side(ICK), but there was no rain so I'll count it a blessing!

Our son is OODLES better Praise God!! He's eating like a champ and the dehydration is a thing of the past.Tom and I want to say thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers, you guys are SUCH a blessing!!

Yesterday we dropped our youngest daughter at her GS camp for her first away from home camping experience. My house is soooooo quiet it is driving me bonkers!! To top it off once she hooked up with her friends, I was yesterday's lunch meat.I barely got a hug and when I tried for another I got a gee wiz mom and a roll of the eyes...since when is hugging your mom Not Cool??!!

Our oldest is still in the midst of her canoe adventure in Minnesota, have not heard from her since Sunday the day they left for the river, cell phones don't pick up a signal so I can't call....I can't call Meg's camp, I can't call Sam on her trip....geesh what is this world coming to??!!

Garrett, I'm sending prayers your way for your that boy's family, so sad when a youngster loses his life in such a senseless way.

Jeremy WELCOME BACK!! and David, have a safe trip and ENJOY!! :D

Dr.Stephanie, I presume :D I had to do that once for a friend who had to go out of town....cats hate water, hate being stuck even worse, but I have to admit once I did it once it went well after that.Hardest part is holding them down while you insert the catheter after that it's easy, my friend's cat just settled down while the fluid ran in.Keeping Derby in prayers, Marty too, how is he doing?

Chandra....Good to see you girl!! Glad you found your way here!

Shannon.....gotcha 11 am on wednesday I'll be saying a prayer for you, all will go well!! You GO girlfriend!!

Furry.....ah the days of VBS...unfortunately for me I missed out on our church's this year, started on Sunday, my girls are gone and my son can't attend.I was supposed to help out with the prep work but all that was going on the same time my son was sick.It was good that you were there for your children, that Ex sounds like a real doozy!

Josh, sorry to hear bout your ankle, that really stinks, praying that it mends lickety split!!

skyman....Emma walking!! whoooooooo Hooooooooo, now things really start to get fun, it's such an exciting time in a child's life, their whole world gets that much bigger!Waiting on our pix, send it when you can.Have a good week at work....remember the weekend is only four days away now :D

Well since my son is doing better I guess I am going to leave on my jet plane on wednesday to florida.I still have some doubts that I should even go, but hubby assures me that he will be alright.I don't know...LOL....I still reserve the right not to go up until the last minute.

That's about all from this corner of the world, here is hoping that all is well in your corner...Dennis you take care out there, same to the rest of you Arizona habitaters.

Have a great night and a wonderful tuesday!

Blessings, Raine

Good Morning,

First off, let me say "Thank You Jesus!" Raine........that IS the best news we've heard in a long, long time, with all the doom and gloom of the fires out west, the flooding in the South, etc, etc, it's SO NICE hearing some great news for a change, give your little man a hug from ol snowman would ya?

NOW.....the winds *sigh*, the month of May was the windest on record, looks like June will also be another record breaker. I have winds of 28 mph already and the sun is just now coming up!

Pojo........there's nuthin' to be worried about, you're gonna luv it!

Well good folks, the paper is here and I need another cuppa Joe, OH......the memorial service for Mr. Lupe is tomorrow, I won't be around too much, maybe in the early morning. It does my heart GOOD to see how the whole state of Az has rallied around his widow and children, the news of his memorial service has been on all of the Valley news stations, 2 of them are planning to broadcast the service live. In a time of such great sorrow and pain, it's his passing that truly has brought this state together and has helped ease the racial tensions that so desperatly need to cease, Rick my Brother, not only are you a hero for saving our homes, your still doing your work, bringing people together, I know Sir, this is your work!

Morning everyone. I brought some KK's and a fresh pot of coffee out to the front porch this morning. How can I bring KK's you ask? Because I just saw on the news last night where a KK opened in Springfield yesterday. Talk about a line... but I waited just to bring you some. ;)

DJ's funeral was yesterday. I didn't go because I don't handle funerals very well. I only go to ones where I was really close to the person or family. I hope that doesn't sound pathetic.

The sun is shining and it is very, very muggy outside this morning. :o Can't wait until fall. :) J/k!

Glad to hear Dakota is doing better and Dennis, take it easy today.

Good Morning everyone on the front porch!!! I am going to open the door and let the A/C flow out here - we are in a heatwave right now - with high's in the upper 90's and heat indexes in the 105 range - its plain hot!!!!

Hope everyone is having a great summer and staying safe and enjoying life.

I just found out that I am going to be an aunt again - my sister who just had a baby 9 months ago found out she's pregnant. Can we say oh-no baby. This will make #3 for her.

Raine - I will be sending my darling daughter off to Girl Scout camp in 2 1/2 weeks. I am very anxious about it but she is so excited about going - I know she will have a great time - being 8 years old - the innocence of a child. Great to hear Dakota doing great - Its all the tender-loving care you and your hubby give him!!!!

Well - time to get to work - everyone have a great day and here's a toast of ice tea to the Front Porch.

Thank you everyone for the welcome! I think I will enjoy posting here.

Shannon- Hope everything will go well on Wednesday! I guess you are taking a huge step in your life and I wish you all the best.

Steve- It was great to hear from you through e-mail and glad we are still staying in touch. I am glad everything is going well.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am interested mainly in the atmosphere and space. I hope to work for The Weather Channel, NASA or The National Weather Service after my studies at the University of Oklahoma. I plan to have five degrees, 300-400 credit hours going non stop and full time and have almost 200 credit hours right now! I have to take classes such as Calculus I-IV, hydrometeorology, climatology, physics, computer science classes( a lot of those), Intro to oridnary differential equations, engineering classes such as fuild mechancis, Mesoscale meteorology and Chemistry as well as Applied Statistical methods. Looks like I am in for a bumpy road ahead and a tough one as well. I did get a 3.0 GPA from Western Kentucky University, my last semester there after being there for seven years straight. Glad I ended up on a great note. I am keeping in touch with a lot of the faculty there and they are keeping a close eye on my progress. I know all this work will pay off. I am keeping in touch also with the alumni association from Western Kentucky University. Hope to get my Maseters and Ph.D. as well.

I just can't believe my dreams are coming true. Not much going on today. I am enjoying a paid vacation off from work right now and glad I have off 4th of July! Haven't had that day off in a while. Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday. Next semester I am taking(for fall of 2003), Calculus I, Chemistry I and with a lab, Orientation to Professional Meteorology and Computer Science. I wrote to the alumni association at the University of Oklahoma and introduced myself. I am sure they will be surprised with the goals that I have. I haven't heard of anyone getting five degrees at all and I do hope to get a research assistant job possibly while studying at the University of Oklahoma.

I have decided to join some clubs which are SPED(for students interested in astronomy and not a major) and a meteorology club. Hope to see some great storms as well while in Oklahoma as I will be right in the middle of tornado alley. I am also glad I will be studying in the New National Weather Center that will be built on campus in the next couple of years and will be with some top researchers from around the world. The building will be over a billion dollars worth! Can't wait until it is built and it starts this summer, construction. I will also probably have a minor in journalism with the meteorology degree. I do hope to get back into Tae Kwon Do as well. I found some new apartments close to campus in Oklahoma and can't wait to move in August. Take care and hope everyone is doing well.

Josh-hope your ankle is feeling better and hope it heals soon!

Chandra     8-)

Hey Joshua....don't check out this topic often but I thought I'd wish you luck with the ankle.

When I was 16, I sprained my ankle so bad playing basketball, I would have been better off breaking it!. I'm 44 and every night my ankle still is swollen and beat up looking. If its your normal sprain..you will never know it happened in short time. This one I have re-sprained coutless times...all it takes is stepping on some un-even ground and it flops!

But...life is too short and I have never stopped doing the things I want to do including Karate for a couple of years.

Good luck to you!

j - glad to see you here! REALLY!

Chandra - I'm glad that you found your way here! Keeping busy as usual I see.

Ticka - congrats Auntie!!

Jackie - all of that peace and quiet is what you were yearning for during those past several weeks when poor Dakota was so ill. RELAX and enjoy yourself! YOU'VE EARNED IT!

Marty's fine - he went to karate tonight TO TEACH.

We finally got Derby his IV. Marty held him on the towel on the bathroom floor (not looking at the needle  ). I inserted it in once, but it became lose so I had to do it again. :o Derby growled alittle bit, but it was over before we knew it. Then, I remove the old needle and decided to put on a new one for the next time. That little sucker's cover came off and before I knew it, I stuck myself in the side of my middle finger! I had a nice little mess on my hands, sink, etc. as I was applying pressure and yelling for Marty to get me a bandaid. Needless to say, I'll put a new needle on when we're ready to give Derby his IV again! The finger looks lovely this morning!

Mister wiseguy (Marty) was making fun of me later "Mommy's going to be a nurse guys" (talking to the animals). I looked at him and said, just remember, you're 10 years older than I and someday I may have to give YOU a needle! He put a cork in it after that! HA!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

Evening everyone! A hot,hot day on the front porch. High here reached 93º today and it looks like tomorrow should approach 90º again before a cool down.

J... nice to see you on the porch. Stop by more often... and bring a cd player. You've got a great taste in music. ;)

Well... I think I will sweep off the porch and say good night at least on the porch.

Until tomorrow,

Good evening from the westernmost front porch of Storm2K. :D

It was a sunny and mild day (for a change :D ) here. The high was 71. Yay, it finally made it into the 70s!! :) :D

Thank you so much everyone for the prayers on my ankle. The pain was significantly decreased today, but the swelling was not. :( I hope that will go down starting tomorrow.

Chandra - nice to see you again WxBud! :D I see you have been busy lately!

I actually had a good day at work. That might sound weird to you, but I feel good overall about it. That is the important part IMO. ;)

The weather here over the next few days is supposed to be sunny and warm (except for possible morning clouds) with temps in the 70s and 80s. GOODBYE YOU BLASTED 60's!

Have a great Hump Day (Wednesday) everybody! Joshua

Sleepless night in Huntington Beach  ... still clear at 2:30 AM and it is 59 degrees out. The low clouds are way offshore for once. :D Yay!

I can't sleep since I took a 4 hour nap from 5:15 PM to 9:30 PM :( :cry ... hoping I am energized enough for work. I will try again around 3 AM.

See ya all l8r today. Joshua
