I think it is a mistake that the DFW NWS is not forecasting snow in Waco this evening. Their temperature and dewpoint is quickly falling (currently it is 36F with a dewpoint of 33F) and it seems like it would take a miracle to keep them from changing over to or mixing with snow by this evening.
UPDATE: Looks like I might have been right about Waco. The weatherunderground radar now has Waco in the blue-shaded snow region and local weather stations around Waco are reporting temperatures near 33-35F. Anyone in Waco to confirm this?

Well, maybe I jumped the gun a little bit on my possibility of 10-12" in Red River counties.
We've dipped out of the heavy convective band and are at moderate snow right now with about 5" on the ground. Plus, the heavy precip seems to be slowly transiting eastward.
Does look like the upper low is still producing snow out in the Lubbock area, so maybe another 2-3 hours of precip this afternoon and then another round later tonight.
Maybe 6-8 is the right call here in the Texoma region.
I will say this - travel is treacherous up here in Grayson County.

I'll wait for more than a single report of mixed snow and rain from DFW, changed next hour to fog, before I worry about whether ACT gets enough snow to matter.
I fear heartbreak for the children of the HEB ISD.

DFW has finally changed back to snow, although with temps at 35ºF, it probably isn't sticking much...

My sister in Euless reports streets in the neighborhood starting to accumulate. Maybe 2 inches on the lawn.
Weirod- less than 10 miles from DFW airport.

I see the back edge is heading this way from just west of FTW and we had maybe 15 minutes of snow in Arl. before it switched back to rain. Don't expect any snow here this afternoon given the current pattern. When is the next round coming in?
