No offense but I (as well as 99% of this board) live in the lower 48, therefore we're more concerned with what's going on in the Atlantic. Yes Flossie is impressive but I don't live in Hawaii, but I hope those folks out there are keeping an eye on it.

Hey guys I am not a professional met, nor do I claim to know anything technical about canes. But our local met here in Lafayette, LA is sure talking about this one. And saying it will be in the GOM by Aug 22nd.

You need to switch to a different TV station. Anyone forecasting that today is foolish.

A BROAD SURFACE TROUGH OVER THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA IS PRODUCING
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS NEAR JAMAICA...THE CAYMAN ISLANDS...AND
SOUTHERN CUBA. ANY DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM DURING THE NEXT
COUPLE OF DAYS SHOULD BE SLOW TO OCCUR AT IT MOVES WESTWARD AT
ABOUT 10 MPH.

A VIGOROUS TROPICAL WAVE HAS EMERGED FROM AFRICA OVER THE FAR
EASTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN. GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM IS

How many THOUSANDS of miles away is this, as of yet; unamed, unclassified system??

And a local Met is talking about it being in the Gulf 2 WEEKS from now!

That's not the fault of the website; it is because of the policy of the organization that runs the satellite, EUMETSAT. Only images of Europe get distributed for free hourly.

People just need to CHILL (no pun intended due to the heat :) ) but just watch it.....TOO far out and ANYTHING can happen! Heck it do a loopy-loo and go back toward Africa for all we know.
