Sure looks lilke she is trying to wrap and go tropical to me. Even though the models don't foresee much strengthening, I think she needs to be watched closely for any "surprises" that could be thrown at our East coast contingent!!! I do hope you guys get the rain. I know you need it!!

Interesting that TWC keps saying that Aircraft is in storm right now but there is no data being sent that I can find. As for Gabrielle, I believe that strengthening is definite possibility. Also, a landfall south of Cape Lookout is also possible. IMHO

Did the person that created the first graphic contected the person that created the second graphic??? The track is not the same. The first graphic has landfall in NC, while the second graphic has landfall in SC.

The center is now 290 miles from the coast. NHC has it moving at 12 mph, that puts landfall at 8am CDT tomorrow, not tomorrow evening. I noticed NHC only moved it at 5.25 mph for the first 24 hours for some reason.

Based on speed alone, if it's moving that fast, LF is more likely. If it slows, it's more likely to miss.

Overall, LF looking less likely though IMO.

Isn't it supposed to slow down as it turns around the periphery of the high?

Convection likely to cover center in next few hours, if that tiny, white dot on the south side of the convection blob expands, although it could be an illusion

There are two errors on that map.

1) It will almost certainly go straight from STS Gabrielle to TS Gabrielle as it is unlikely the winds will drop below 35 kt.

2) Even if it did drop to a TD, it would be named TD Gabrielle, not TD7 as it already has become a named storm.

It all comes down to how fast it moves and how much west it goes for LF. I think it will have a land fall but I don't know where at yet. I would still say from SC-NC line to the OBX

I suspect it's just about tropical enough to be classified as such soon.

I just adjusted my track eastward to just grazing the Outer Banks. Won't be too much of a storm there. They may be disappointed in the amount of rain, too.

Also, central pressure looks to be in the 1010mb range now. Not quite that 970mb someone was predicting, but close.
