There's false reports for every outbreak. Most of the time it's the "storms hit without warning" crap. It's a shame people keep doing this crap but they'll do anything to get clicks.

For Example Mayfield had nearly 30 minutes of lead time.

I’m curious whether the VLT twister was one or two tornadoes. If it was one it breaks the record for the longest tracked tornado in recorded history. If not it means that it was still very long at an estimated 150 miles long.

So to summarize, we have 4 EF3+ tornadoes from this event so far, and there will likely be more as they continue surveying them.
-At least EF3/165mph near Defiance, MO. I could see this one getting bumped to EF4 potentially considering it's already nearly there.
-At least EF3/150mph near Edwardsville, IL (Amazon warehouse) I don't think this one will be upgraded any further but we'll see.
-At least EF3/155mph in Bowling Green. Looking at the map, they've got a long way to go on surveying this one. Wouldn't be surprised to see an upgrade to EF4 at some point.
-NWS Paducah mentioned they've found EF3 damage from the quad state storm but that's not from the strongest areas. They also mentioned they are bringing in other experts Monday to help with surveys so this one will take a while but it's obvious it will be HE EF4/5.
There was also another significant tornado produced by the Bowling Green supercell that I haven't found any updates on yet so they likely haven't gotten to it yet. These surveys are going to take quite some time.

Wow. That is an unusual amount of ef3 + tornadoes for an outbreak with sub 30 confirmed tornadoes atm

Good news! It appears that many more people survived the candle factory collapse than originally thought. 8 people are confirmed to have passed and 8 are missing but the rest are alive and accounted for.

Tomorrow sounds pretty crazy in the midwest. Non-thunderstorm winds of 40-60 mph, gusting to 75 mph!

Could see a few tornadoes and stronger thunderstorm wind gusts in northern IA/southern MN...

In a shocking turn of events, the SPC just went straight from a slight risk to a moderate risk for Wed.


Moderate is for 45 hatched wind risk. Tor risk is 10 unhatched for now. But wait there's more, the area in the moderate risk has never had a single recorded tornado in the month of December. This fall/winter secondary season has been absolutely insane.

And on top of all that, a potentially unprecedented fire/wind event could unfold over parts of the plains. Tomorrow is going to be historic on multiple different levels.

There is an INSANE amount of wind expected across around 50% of the CONUS, especially the Midwest, Northern, Central, & Southern Plains. with Wind Gusts up to Hurricane force in Nebraska, Kansas, & Colorado.

Today is going to be an extremely thermodynamic day.
