Currently we have a heavy rain/snow mix. The flakes are HUGE!!! Still stuck at 35 F. I just pray some of this moisture sticks around tonight...and we get to the coldest part of the day. And I also pray the mountains are getting clobbered!!

For the geographic area where the majority of the people live... this is a rain event (yes... even with a few flakes mixed in). That means south of Bellingham through the entire Seattle metro area. It is in the low 40's at Sea-Tac, Renton, and Boeing Field. Just like I predicted.

Cold rain.

Getting snow above 500 feet or in Bellingham is not a big lowland snow event. I am sure it is very exciting for Brennan but I never even tried to predict the weather for Bellingham. It is an unusual area that can get snow at the strangest times. I would never doubt snow up there in this situation.

For the rest of us... it is going exactly as I thought.

No snow in North Bend or even at our new house at 1,100 feet. An amazing 44 degrees here and there was even some sun earlier as there was some major downsloping off the Cascades. Now it is just cloudy and mild with a little drizzle.

I still like R-Dub's chances though. The radar looks intense up there and could get that artificial cold air coming down to the surface.

Anthony... W13... Snow_Wizzard... no chance of accumulating snow.

Wow TT-SEA, you sure like to throw that pessimistic view into everything. But you're right, it's been a cold rain for the majority of today. A few flakes mix in from time to time, but nothing big. Hopefully the cascades get clobbered tonight...as of now, Snoqualmie and Stevens are both reporting light snow. I say 3-8 inches up at the Passes which is awesome. As for Bellingham, I still say 3-6 inches...there's abundant moisture and Frazer outflow. Perfect if you ask me. Boring week ahead, but next weekend is looking more promising for the mountains...snow levels at a modest 2k and rain for the lowlands. Exactly what the doctor prescribed. Off to a Superbowl party.

Anthony

Currently 36 F with heavy rain...we've probably received nearly 2 inches of RAIN today.

Precipitation is letting up as the low is moving south. The precipitation looks like it's slowly dissipating from north to south. It still looks like we could possibly get some more moisture making its way up here but it's hard to tell. Hey TT, I live about 4 miles from town towards the east at 307 feet and it has been all WET snow for most of the day... 2 inches in the grass here and currently lightly snowing... I drove up to 800 feet elevation just a bit ago at about 2:20 or so and the roads are snow covered and there is about 5 inches or so on the grass, 3 inches on the pavement where cars havn't driven.... I think I'll spend the rest of the day up there.... :D

R-Dub... it will be close to 60 degrees again by Friday!! The NWS even says our springtime weather will get back on track.

This has got warm southerly flow and spring-like temperatures written all over it for Friday...
