This is like a rubberband being wound up for days and suddenly let go and with this deep convection there could be periods of RI in my opinion.

Sally will become a huricane very shortly. I don' t anticipate RI, but like DestinHurricane pointed out steady strengthening. I foresee definitely a Cat 2 potential at landfall, but there may be a slim chance it could attain Cat 3. I pray it does not!!

NEVER, EVER SAY NEVER in the tropics and weather in general, and most importantly, with life itself!!

This is so not true it hurts

If Sally were going to really get explosive intensification, we would have seen signs of it by now. It will in all likelihood gain some strength before landfall but my question is why do we root for these storms to go from tropical strength to cat 3? I would rather it just be a minimum cat 1 or below and do as little damage as possible.

That process is happening as we speak and should be completed soon.

With the center relocation, it looks like they are now

Somehow I get the feeling some think this is still
going to the Fl. panhandle. Personally I don’t think that
is happening. The LA/MS border still looks like
a good bet right now. IMO

The truth is it doesn't matter if we wish for it to be stronger or weaker, the die is cast and the results will be the same regardless of what we want

I think 100-110mph is what we will see out of Sally but there's a chance it could be a bit stronger, I'm not quick to rule that out given recent occurrences we've seen in the gulf.

Seeing some upper 70s mph high up on radar in that newly formed band.

I'm thinking Alabama landfall now. The center reformed pretty far east.

I think time will be Sally's limiting factor. Had this been on a path towards f.e. Texas or Northern Mexico that would have given it more time I can imagine we would be looking at a cat 4 before landfall. Luckily that's not the case, but that doesn't make the current situation better. Of course it's still 'only' a tropical storm atm, but I think cat 2 has gone from an HWRF/HMON only thing to quite a real possibility and cat 3 is also still on the table. Will be interesting to see the 12z models, but I'm not sure if they'll have the center relocation.

I don't see anyone here saying that but NW Florida will see significant impacts and only go higher the further east she goes.

I don't think it'll be a Panhandle hit either but I think somewhere on the MS coast is most likely and if I were absolutely forced to make a guess I'd say landfall Biloxi, MS as a 110mph cat2.
