What an ugly hurricane. Funny how the system with a 919mb GFS run from last week will probably end up weaker than Martin, which had almost no model support until it suddenly started forming mere days ago.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I’ll take it. No complaints here.

Looks like recon is finding a rising pressure (995mb) and winds in the 60-65 kt range.

Re: ATL: LISA - Hurricane - Discussion
This could have been a big win for the GFS since it was one of the first models to sniff a hurricane in that region but then completely dropped it shortly before it did develop. Went from a W to a L.
Other models struggled to develop Lisa too. Make that another Atlantic storm they fail to initialize.

Re: ATL: LISA - Tropical Storm - Discussion
Lisa may have struggled a bit this morning convection wise which had limited its ceiling, but those convective bursts at and even after landfall are quite ridiculous. If this was over water, it could have been really bad.

Salute!
Don't let Lisa off easily. She is gonna be better developed after crossing the Yucatan than Opal was when it decided to zoom straight across the Gulf to the Panhandle.
