Having worked in the oil patch, I could never understand hatred for an industry where people risk their lives in some of the most inhospitable places in the world, where the companies involved invest billions, and where the markup on a gallon of gasoline for the oil company is generally less than ten cents, with state and local govt. getting three to five times that much in taxes.

Especially when Coke and Pepsi sell bottled water that comes from a tap, usually, for a dollar or more per half liter bottle.

Back to the topic, still waiting for ecmwf.int site to update 12Z run, to see if it still develops this thing, and shape of 500 mb ridge around day 10...
