I was looking forward to a hit from a cane maybe a cat 1 or 2 but I was not looking forward to charley coming and we knew it was going to hit tampa I never been so scared in my life, so when it hit south of tampa I had mixed emotions, where i lived, we felt nothing at all from charley (40 miles north of tampa) I wanted a little something just not a direct hit so in the end I was really relieved. Got to enjoy frances and jeanne though came through our area. ok frances no power for 5 days no fun but jeanne was fun. 1 day no power and lots of wind. side note: we went to orlando to escape charley to find out later we would run right into it. Turned around went home. Charley was too close for comfort thats for sure. Our hurricane shield still in tact though yea!!

We were in Ft Myers when Charley went through Punta Gorda.. I remember as we drove north on 75 the damage kept getting worse and worse and once we got to Punta Gorda the damage was extreme.

Wow! I cant believe its been 5 years now! Im born and raised Orlando and we just were living up here in Ocala for a year when it hit and we thought it would come up here but it didnt! My parents were still there and lost power for over a week! I remember it was awful I couldnt drive down there for a few days cause part of the east/west exp was closed from the turnpike. but man what scary times those were! 
my friend o-town went through it ruff too...im sure she will see this post.....it affected alot of my life...cause then next month hurricane frances and jeanne came rippin through here and we had alot of tree damage and lost power for a few days.......2004 will be a hurricane year in my and my familys memory for a LIFETIME.
OTOWN WHERE YA AT??? I KNOW YA GOT SOME DAMAGE PICS..???????
