Jetmaxx I wasn't screaming it was dying just posting a simple observation. You may apply any reasoning you want to the observation.

Tip, I wasn't directing my comments at you.....honest.

I check out several wx boards every day, and have seen a dozen posts on each today downplaying this hurricane; saying it was dying or will be no big deal at landfall...

I was just posting a warning to anyone living (or having loved ones) in the path of Isabel...based on my model and synoptic analysis and thirty years of research into hurricane climatology.

I have to agree...please take this seriously ..if you haven't gotten all your prep work done get it done ASAP... stores, traffic and last minute running is just going to be horrid tomarrow and tomarrow night and who wants to deal with all that with the added stress of the storm barreling down on you!

okay, so folks in my area think i'm overreacting and crazy. we are about 200 miles west of the north carolina coast, and it's not looking like we will be impacted majorly0--according to local news anyway. but something in my gut (and hanging out on this board) is telling me FOCUS and BE PREPARED FOR THE WHAT-IF....

Am I exaggerating or wish-casting, anyone?

My cousin I going to "evacuate" Ocean City on Wednesday to seek refuge at a hotel in Salisbury, Maryland.

I figure that's smack in the middle of the Delmarva peninsula and a whopping 23 feet mean above sea level, and a whole 20+ miles from Ocean City.

She "doesn't do hurricanes" but if Isabel runs up the western side of the Chesapeake Bay as a cat-4, it may test her swimming skills. Storm surge from the eastern side of a cat-4 Isabel could result in surge levels exceeding 40 feet in the Bay.

I'm really worried for her, but she won't listen to a word I say.
