If there is a Cross-Polar flow, then count on snow far south. The storms will be suppressed south so that the deep south will see storms with accumulating snow and ice.
I wish all you southerners all the very best luck with your snow!!
I will deeply enjoy my super-cold weather! Though it means suppressed storm tracks, it also means plentiful snow for the south!!! It may even stick around down there for awhile after it falls!!!
I can't wait to walk across the Potomac River!! If there are water-main breaks up here, I'll have fun sliding on the ice!!!
Ice-Age JEB!!! BRING ON that thermohaline shutdown!!!

I still cannot forget that 226 MPH wind for Nags Head, NC 2 days away when Isabel threatened that area ...
They couldn't possibly agreed with such a ridiculous wind speed in their forecast data for Isabel. I read some other very strange forecast wind speeds for central Florida with one of the tropical systems.

I'm still holding to my current progs of maybe a mention of it by an OCM for part o the northern edges of the TV viewing area(like Hunsville if we are lucky!), but that is as far as I will go right now. We are definitely looking at a very strong cold push that will send our temps plummeting even here on the Gulf Coast. I can't say I see the precip setup yet. As Jeb says a lot will depend on how the split flow sets up and if any Short Waves or strong ULL's ride the southern jet into the GOM while we are "under the influence".
