Eagles (T-Bowl Orlando), Genisis (Lakeland civic center Fl), STYX (Lakeland), Van Halen(Lakeland), REO (Garden state arts center), Foriegner (Garden state art center), Cheap Trick (T-Bowl), Pat Benitar (Meadowlands Arena NJ) and the greastest show of all time,
Woodstock 1969. Bethel, NY. I was 10 years old. 500,000 people attended. Of course I was too young to fully understand all that was going on, but I have very good memories of this festival. One thing I totally remember is how 500,000 people got along and helped each other on those wonderful 3 days.

I would've loved to have been there too, but I was only 7 at the time. That must've been one heck of an experience!!!

Diana Ross (took my mom many years ago for Mom's Day), Neil Diamond (free because someone else's brother skipped out at the last minute), Amy Grant three times (Unguarded tour, Lead Me On tour, Heart In Motion tour), Billy Joel twice (River Of Dreams tour, Face 2 Face tour w/Elton John), Elton John (redundant, aren't I?
), Garth Brooks (Se7ens tour), Bruce Springsteen (Tunnel Of Love tour, Bridge School Benefit Concert [All acoustic] w/ The Pretenders, Neil Young, Alison Kraus and Union Station, Hootie & The Blowfish, Beck [Blind Melon was supposed to perform, but it was right after the lead singer died]), Joe English Band, Melissa Etheridge (yeah, I know...why?), and Cher (Farewell tour).
Of all my faves - Garth, Billy, Amy, Bruce, and Olivia Newton-John - the only one who I have yet to see in concert is ONJ. I don't think I could take being in the same room with her.

That may be David.....but there is nothing more pleasing to the ear and uplifting to the spirit than the celebration of live music (assuming its done well). However..I can respect any persons desire to be away from smoke or drink, or anything offensive to you.
However....that being said, you have not heard music, till you have heard it performed live. There are plenty of groups out there that you would be surprised at how polite and respectful the audience can be.
That being said, in general, you should have a pretty good idea about what kind of audience to expect by the character of the band members.
Example....the crowd at Simon & Garfunkle's reunion tour will be drastically different then say...your run of the mill Godsmack concert.
Give live music a chance...you won't be dissapointed.

I was pretty surprised during my first Amy Grant concert when I smelled something funny in the air. I had floor seats for the second and third ones (second row for "Heart In Motion" was incredible!) so it wasn't as bad there. Rupp Arena in Lexington, where most of the concerts I went to were held, no longer allows smoking. And the same holds true in Houston at the Compaq Center. Works for me since I don't smoke.
Gotta agree wholeheartedly with J. Nothing beats hearing the songs live, especially when it's one of your favorite artists. Heck, I'm not even a big fan of Cyndi Lauper, but hearing that overly-played 80's bubbly bubble-gum tune "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" live completely gave it new life for me. (That's one I forgot -- Cyndi Lauper, opened for Cher.)
