I think Bush will win in a landslide too, Linda. My mom, a die hard democrat even says she's voting for Bush. She likes the way he follows through when he says something is going to happen. She also likes the way he isn't ashamed to mention God.

Maybe comparing Bush to the Dems, he hasn't gotten as into it as they have, but he has been campaigning ever since he took office. It is the way of politics. And he has been really campaigning this past year.

Although I do agree, that it will get alot more aggressive as the months tick away.

Well, JQ,

Missouri may have "gone for" the winner in times past, but the voters are equally divided between the cities (KC and STL are VERY liberal, and can out-vote the rest of the state) and the remaining 151 counties (who are more conservative, but added together barely make up the same population as STL and KC).

We saw this in 1999, when 151 counties voted FOR a concealed-carry law, but the vote in STL, St. Louis County and KC was just enough to defeat the measure (thanks to a last-ditch effort by Bill and Hillary Clinton, who appeared in STL and KC several times, and the then-Governor Mel Carnahan's cash flow and opposition to the measure).

The only thing anyone will see here in the primaries is the possible Democratic front-runner solidifying his hold on the race. The GOP, with Bush-Cheney as the only candidates on the ballot, won't get much attention in the polls here.

I agree its just the primary for y'all but i wouldn't be surprised if the person they pick gets the nomination. Missouri is a crucial swing state.

By your definition all politicians are campaigning all the time. True, but the subject here is the 2004 Presidential campaign. The skirmishes have started but the war hasn't gotten cranked up yet. :-)

Bush has not started campaigning yet. :)

Tim, glad to see your mom sees Bush for what he is!

Once again, try to recall the map of 2000; Bush (red) swept the vast majority of the nation (map by counties), but those annoying little blue dots (the megalopolis on the East and West Coasts, isolated big cities) went for Gore.

I'd expect the DNC to mount their strategy the same way this year...get the cities and outer metro areas "out" solidly, and the Dems may win.
