The only time I've ever really gotten in trouble was last year. ( Even though I really don't think I should've gotten in that much trouble.) I had a substitue teacher. I asked her a question and she replied " YOU DON'T KNOW THAT?! YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO FIRST GRADE!" When first graders don't even learn about the question I asked. I replied " I should? " and she went ballistic. She yelled " DON'T YOU EVER TALK BACK TO ME!"...after that, I didn't say a word.

Later, we went to the computer lab. My computer wasn't working, so I raised my hand and told her it wasn't working. She then said " Well, go to another one. " There was only one more left, and that one wasn't working either so I raised my hand again and said " But that one isn't working either. " She then screamed " WELL, HOW ABOUT YOU USE YOUR BRAIN AND GO TO ANOTHER ONE? IS IT THAT HARD?!" I then said " But...there are no more left." As soon as I said that, she screamed for me to come with her...outside she screamed " Why do you even come to school!! All you do is annoy the teachers and the kids!" Mad about her saying that, I said " Uh, I don't think I annoy other kids...I have friends, don't I?" She was about to send me back to the class to " Sit and think " but she coulden't, because there was no one there.

Later that day, she made a girl cry, and told a boy he shoulden't go to middle school, for asking in her words " a dumb question." I got really mad, so I just told one of the counslers....and she said that they would never ask her to sub at the school again. The sub did call my parents, but after I explained what happend to them, I didn't get in trouble.

Was a good student until towards the end of the night of the Senior party...BTW my sister was in the same grade (she skipped K is why). Anyway, peer pressure got the WORST of a group of fellas (yep, including me) and we went and egged the high school principal's garage! Keep in mind this was a non-alcohol party...anyway, later that night (of course my sister somehow got word of what happened...the snitch who told her! grrr)...and relayed to my Dad what had happened. Wellll, he and I took a ride back to the principal's house...we pull up by the curb...he and his wife were hosing off the garage door...and I CONFESSED...(but the other guys involved never did come forward...as far as I know to this day). It felt like a TRIAL and going before a magistrate!  YES, I learned a big LESSON then and there!

Wow, Jassi, Im sorry to hear that.

I'm not a mean or nasty person, and even-though it's not in my nature to do so, but if she spoke to me like that I probably would have slapped her. Not only is that disrespectful to undermine someone's intelligence like that, but it doesn't show character, or set a good example. If she can't control herself she shouldn't be a teacher at all

Afterall, the role of a teacher is to not only educate but be supportive and encouraging, that type of activity accomplished neither. Respect is given where it is received, and if she can't have respect for the students then she does not belong there. Which is probably the reason why she's only a sub and not a full time teacher. lol

Let's see.

I've only had one detention (in 7th grade), and that was for being tardy 3 times in one six week period. I've never been sent to the principal or the counselor. I've had my name on the board a few times, once in 4th grade for laughing really loud at a joke somebody told in science class. :-? And a few other times for talking.

GEEZ Poofs! I wonder what ever made her think she COULD handle teaching! I'm sorry that you had to go through that!

I was a good student - A's and B's. I was put in the corner a few times for stupid things. I remember when I was 7 years old, I was in the Brownies and had my uniform on. I do not know why Mrs. Whitsle (yeah, she was an old bat) sent me to the corner, but it was kind of embarrassing being there in a Girl Scout uniform.

For the most part I was good until I was in High School and I moved from NY to NJ. My first year and a half was bad - my grades went to B's and C's, I hung out with the wrong crowd and cut school. I had detention twice I think. I finally turned it around and made it to the Honor Society.

I've always been pretty good at school... the only things teachers could complain about would be lack of participation... not only am I quiet, but I don't really pay attention in many of my classes. I usually just learn the material on my own at home if I feel it's worth learning (math, science, computer science)... or study the minimum amount required to do well on tests if I don't (history, Spanish, most stuff in English).

I was cracking up at that story about the sub, Cheesy -- I've had some "interesting" substitute teachers myself. They have absolutely no standards for subs whatsoever in my county (and it sounds like yours as well)... many of them have me questioning whether they're even HS graduates by the end of the period... I had one in middle school who sat on her stool and read a magazine while the class ran amok (kids throwing chairs at each other, using the teacher's stapler to shoot staples across the room, yelling, etc.) until the teacher from the next room had to come over and read us the riot act. Then again there have been a few who are retired from a respectable profession and know their stuff far more than most of the "real" teachers do, so I guess it works both ways.

I was mostly good. I was labeled as such by classmates, too. Today I would have been labeled a geek.

Bad behavior for me was getting a pass from study hall to go practice my sax in the band room and instead sitting in the practice room with my friends and ripping on the people around school.

In 9th grade (freshman in high school in my area), I was in an algebra class (a basic class where one semester of "regular" algebra would be covered in one year, then the other semester in the next grade). Needless to say, from day 1, I knew the class would be interesting, EVEN WITH THE ACTUAL TEACHER PRESENT. A couple times, the instructor had to call security up to the class to handle things. It was crazy. Don't ask me what happened when a sub was there. It was maddening. I felt sorry for the poor sub and actual teacher. I was one of the few bright spots in that room!
