Important Anniversary

Today, April 18th, is the 98th anniversary of the MM7.7 Northern California Earthquake of 1906-popularly known as the San Francisco Earthquake and Fire though its effects reached much further. With an updated estimated death toll of 3-5000 and updated damage estimates of 1 billion 1906 dollars, this earthquake is the deadliest and most destructive in US History. For those who would have us believe that 9-11 had no effect on our economy and that it's all due to Bush, economists consider the 1906 earthquake and fire as a major contributory factor in the onset of the 1907 Depression in the US.
