NHC is not forecasting development, merely stating that there is potential. Quite a big difference

I hope very much that this GOM disturbance does not hit Texas --- I am in Austin right now, visiting my relatives there. I have been down here in Central Texas for four days, and will be here until June 24, possibly later. The day I arrived here in Austin, there were 6 inches of rain, and we sure do not need more rain anytime soon!

Absolutely right! The chances are better than development is unlikely.

Is development likely? Convection will likely flare later tonight but at this rate it is not looking good at all.
