The westbound lanes of US 90 east of Pensacola carries the traffic moving on both directions September 17, 2004. I imagine they did not barricade it because it is part of the interstate highway system. Our Bayway is several miles long across Mobile Bay and, as far as I know, it was not barricaded during Ivan. I've been trying to figure out how he got there. If he came on I-10 from the west, then he had to come through Mobile, which more than likely was experiencing hurricane force winds when he came through. The only way to get from Mobile is through one of two tunnels (and I know the Bankhead tunnel was closed) or across a rather high bridge. That ride across Mobile, Mobile Bay, and Baldwin County should have been bad enough to deter him from going further. I just can't understand how he got that far.
