Who's seen the "Green Flash" at sunset?

i'd always heard you were supposed to go look for it when you visited key west.... didnt realize it was a real event until i was doing a little light bathroom reading (meteorology today... gotta love being a WX major) and i found it in the back of the book. something about refraction or something... don't really remember, read the above article :-)

but to answer the question, no, i've never seen one.

Ironically, the meteorologist and I were talking about that the other day. the sports guy brought up the same question... we had the tower cam pointed at the sunset... and were patiently waiting to see if we by any chance had a green flare... it would have been nice to see! (oh by the way, the camera was recording!)

I knew they existed, but when I actually saw it, it surprised the heck out of me!! It was very quick, and left me wondering if I'd been paying closer attention, would I have seen it better. But for sure, it was a bright, brilliant green!! I believe if you blink your eyes at the wrong time, you will miss it!

Wow that sounds really cool. Must of not been what I saw. So I guess i have not seen a green flash. I must have been asleep. LOL
