If you were to take a vacation today.. where would you want to go..?

No doubt in my mind.....I'd love to spend Christmas in Oregon. I haven't been with sis and her kids at Christmastime since Maddie was 11 months old (1995); before Nick, Jake, or little Gracie were even born.

We'd all go to Sunriver (near Bend, OR), and Maddie & Nick could teach "uncle Perry" how to ski (fall :D...then we'd all build a huge snowman. I've never seen a true white Christmas in my life...and it would be totally awesome to experience my first with my little angels :) (not to mention seeing them opening their presents from Santa on Christmas morning....I've seen their excitement on the vcr (thanks to my bro-in-law for taping it), but never in person (except for Madison when she was just a baby....and all she wanted to do then was play with the wrapping paper

When you decide take a cruise around the islands with a stop at Puerto Rico. :) You will like it a lot when you came here in the future.

I did that a few years ago, one of the ports was at San Juan and went horseback riding along the beach. Beautiful scenery, very friendly atmosphere. Had a great time riding and shopping! Wish there would have been much more time to explore the island.

As for Christmas trips... Charleston, SC, Hawaii (oh yea... but that' aint happening)

The Midwest isn't that bad... it is very pretty if snow falls on Christmas... extremely scenic!

We'll still be having the "Celebration in the Oaks" going on. Absolutely beautiful light display in City Park. You can do the walk through or the drive through - or both!!! There is a new display this year - the Cajun Town display! Bourbon Street will be hopping - but you should probably be prepared if you venture there!! The Jax Brewery always has a midnight celebration, complete with "Countdown". There are also steamboat cruises on the river - those are very popular. Let me know if any of these things interest you and I'll get you more info! I'll also be happy to recommend a few restaurants, if you'd like...

Chad, I'll change places with you sometime this winter!!!! You can come up and shovel my driveway and I'll come down and water your flowers!!!!!!

I think Christmas is a time for family and that's where I'll be going. I'm heading for my daughter's home in Roanoke, Virginia for this Christmas.

Now for a regular vacation, hmmmmm, if the trip wouldn't take so long, I'd go back to Maui. For a shorter trip, I love Aruba. The beaches and water are the best.

For a hike, I'll simply head to the West Fork trail north of Sedona, AZ. For the ocean, I'd take the west shore of Maui. For rugged mountains, I'd head back to Zermatt, Switzerland.

For Christmas, it would be knocking on my sister's front door in northern Illinois on a snowy Christmas eve...entering to the wonderful warmth of family, smell of slow-cooking ham, twinkly lights on their tree, and hearty laughs from our all-grown sons.

For just relaxing...I'll take my back yard pool on a warm Friday summer evening under a starlit sky.

LOL, fun topic! Let's see...I've been nudging my
neice to ride out, again, in Spring...My favorite
spots in Florida are Key West and North Miami
Beach. I've been out west all the way to CA...
I've been north as far as Detroit...so, I still need
to see New England and the Northwest coast!

Beautiful it is, Chad. You folks who live anywhere in the vicinity are very lucky. Takes me about 11 hours to drive it, but I imagine you're probably within spittin' distance!! Livin' in paradise... Yep, lucky indeed!! :)
