I will be "cruising" in my "NEW Crown Victoria" 8-) This is the PLPD's annual DUI Task Force (road blocks)........I will be pulling 12-14 hour shifts the WHOLE weekend, which BTW, is "O'TAY Buckwheat!" Can we say "Overtime?", holiday pay? 8-)

Meeting up with BOTH sons and our family in Palm Springs, California, for some "goofing off" time...and then return to work by noon on Monday, Memorial Day.

Chill and then chill some more. Plan nothing. We have been out of town the last two weekends so some time home sounds good for a change. Besides that it looks like we could have a rainy weekend, which this area needs.

Going to Fort Parker for a couple of days. I've been invited to a friend's family reunion that starts today and ends Monday (though I'm only going for part of that time). We're camping up there, probably going out on the river, not sure what else. I hope it rains at night or at least not much during the day.

Memorial Day -- gonna try to go to the Galveston Memorial Day ceremony at the USS Cavalla and USS Stewart at Seawolf Park for a laying of the wreath upon the water and a flyover by a few T-34's in remembrance of those who answered the call to duty for their country.

For my Memorial Day barbecue, I just found out that two of my old Air Force buddies will be in town, and are coming to the party. Way cool--we can reminisce, and drink "Cuba Libres"...whaooooooo!!!

There's a tradition with that---you must not sip the drink, but toss it down, do the 284th handshake, and yell "Cuba Libre," plus other expletives about kicking Fidel's azzz!! :)

Work. I got to work all weekend. Tomorrow I work only 4 hours 12:30-4:30. Saturday all day 1-9. Sunday all day 11-7. And Memorial Day 4:15-9. And Memorial Day is not even a paid holiday. Even if I would of been off, I doubt if I would of had any money to do anything. I only got 22 hours this week. Money is going to be extremly tight for awhile. Almost my whole entire measly paycheck goes on my bills. I wish I could find another job! I am so stressed out and feel like I can't even enjoy life.

Had a very nice meet, greet and eat block party late yesterday afternoon and evening in the townhouse neighborhood where my folks and I reside! :D Quite a few northern natives like my family live on our street it turns out...hailing from CT, NY, NJ, IN, MO, etc. :) Two ladies who they and their husbands are from NJ originally...they planned the event and everyone brought some scrumptious food and beverages! :) It turns out that a couple from east-central IN are familiar with a county and city in OH where we have some relatives from my Mom's side of the family...what a small world! :D Was fun getting acquainted and getting to know our neighbors...with whom we are so fortunate to have a great neighborhood...and watching the kids and dogs playing was entertaining, also! :D This chocolate Lab named Harley who is a big hit with everyone enjoyed his tennis ball (got pretty slimey after a while LOL)...towards the end of the evening not a soul took offers from Harley for a continued fetch game...his Daddy even kidded saying that Harley looked rabid with his overactive saliva glands at the time! LOL Sorry to gross ya'll out!  Also, another lady had her very adorable German shepherd puppy named Riley there! :) Was something to see Riley tagalong with Harley...they're buds and Harley enjoys being like a big brother to Riley! :D We all wore name tags...well the dogs didn't of course  and there was a list of all the peeps names and their street #'s and my Dad went around and got their email addies and will compile them in the computer and produce a nice directory for everyone which will be given out later to all those residing on our street! :)

On Wednesday, I wrote:Probably the usual. Cook out, maybe swim if the pool and the weather are warm enough.

Well plans do change. Now, looks like we're not doing anything here, but my family is talking about possibly going to Buffalo Wild Wings this afternoon or evening (if it's open and isn't crowded).

Monday, I'll be grilling and hanging out at the pool with friends and family.

Fortunately, I got Sunday's plans completed before the storms arrived. We were watching the dark clouds roll in as we were loading up, etc. Then I drove through the worst storm, getting blown all over the road. I thought it was a tornado and wondered if I'd even make it. lol

Today has been pretty much cancelled. The pool is full of debris and the yard is a sloshy mess from the storms. Plus we weren't getting together until about an hour or so from now, and more storms are expected later this afternoon. Everyone decided to just scratch it. :(

Guess I'll pick up limbs in my yard. woo-hoo fun! fun!

I'm sorry Southerngale. It's been storming here all night, too. So today is pretty much a wash out.
