It was just a handful that truly benefited from it. It just got too hard.

This is a weather board. Good point! Allowing an Off Topic Forum was an added benefit and one some might take for granted. This member doesn't take OT for granted. It was another added benefit the PA was started, prior to the election. To be honest I'm surprised the PA lasted long past the election!

And one more thing, at least S2K gives members announcements about important changes like closing a Forum, days before it will do so. It doesn't just yank the entire forum. As I've seen done in the past, elsewhere. That we should be grateful for too.

Geez, this is turning into a major brown nosing post. Didn't mean for it to go that direction. Just wanted to post out that maybe we should look at this from an Admin point of view.

No way rainstorm.

Thanks Miss Mary. I know how you and alot of others felt before the PA forum was set up. You were afraid to even set foot in here because of the BS posts. If ANY bashing occurs within a post that post will be removed and the offending parties will be warned.

If one wants to debate politics, why not go to a political forum, as opposed to a weather forum. I'd be glad to debate Charley versus Camille, but as far as debating geopolitical issues.....NOT! :D

So should I scale back posting the news that I have been? Or just not post anything political in here?

Your posts have been fine IMHO, Beer.

Good, so between Sunny, hurricanedude and rainstorm, that's 3 out of 5500 members that enjoyed it.

Folks I am one who enjoyed it as well. :-) That being said, there is a resource issue when it comes to the board in general. Beside the staff workload there is a finite limit to how much traffic the board can handle. With us hitting a peak of over 400 simultaneous users during Charley and every sign that we'll beat that number this year it's just a matter of priorities. Last year we shutdown the Games Forum and this year we're shutting down the Political Forum. The Games Forum has also been switched so most of the activity it generates is not on our server. Our first priority will always be the Weather Forums, that's why we exist :-)

I can understand that Marshall. Am I mistaken in the fact that the Political Areana is one of the heaviest used forums?

I guess my point has been lost in the shuffle.

At least S2K informed it's members the PA would be closing soon! Come on, doesn't that count for something?

Who knows, it could come back again....in 3 years. (did I hear a collective mod groan? Sorry!).
