It was only a matter of time before theme parks and college bowl games were renamed after their corporate sponsors. Why not hurricanes?

How about somewhere there needs to be the name Holiday Inn Express!

Imagine it....

Hurricane Holiday Inn Express is racing across the Atlantic and remains very dangerous. However, if you live to tell about it, you might not be smart, but you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express!

I like that idea of corporate sponsors they sponsor everything else but I would have to say it should be sponsored by the corps that clean up like Home Depot and Lowes and who ever makes those blue plastic tarps! Then since those corps get free advertising during the storms they should donate at least 50% of their profits to the hurricane damaged areas!

i think you have something there! -why not let corporate sponsors bid to get their name used for a storm. -Maybe this could raise the money needed to fly those recon missions or invest in better equipment.

On the other hand, would a company want their name combined with death and destruction? Would you want to be reminded of the destruction caused by Doritos?

Maybe we should go with defunct or unpopular companies: Hurricane Enron, anyone?

Hurricanes after politicians, in fact, originally, hurricanes were to be named after disliked politicians. How about a list made of current well known politicians??

Allen
Bush
Clinton
Dean
Edwards
Frist
Giuliani
Hagel
Isakson
Jeffords
Kerry
Lieberman
McCain
Nelson
Obama
Perry
Romney
Schumer
Thune
Voinovich
Warner

Yeah, I was thinking about this. Not sure I could bring myself to say "Hurricane Orrin," however.

BTW, Santorum should beat Schumer to the list. JMHO. :-)
