Philippines typhoons 2005 (so far)

So far, 1 typhoon has struck the Philippines in 2005.

It's early in the season yet as the prime time for hits in the Philippines is during the October through December timeframe. Activity in WPAC as a whole has been below average which is typical early in a Post Niño season. Activity in such seasons tends to pick up later on.

Indeed. Unfortunately, typhoons that hit the Philippines in the October-December range tend to come in pairs. Or in the case of 1970, quartets.

That would be terrible if a repeat of 1970 occured. With all the illegal logging, I don't know if the Philippines could handle 4 supertyphoons.

Some parts of the Philippines would be hard pressed to handle the rains from a Tropical DEPRESSION let alone a typhoon or Super. Considering that in 1970, one of those Supers hit Mindanao and another blitzed Manila big time (the worst hit in Manila until Angela), they would be in deep Kimchi if we had a repeat of 1970.
