agree, Lauderdale was rude for that....I think he meant to say that the spell checker would be a gift for LABOR DAY...

after all, no one should have to go through the whole hurricane season with extra typos in their forecasts

He probably assumes the season will be over by Labor Day given the lack of activity the past several weeks...so Christmas makes sense!

Boo-yah.....good one.

Guess where these end up? The trash bin. So there is a reason to at least proof what you fire out on this wonderful board. This place is getting too P/C when we start defending posters like they are four year olds just learning to write.

So let's make sure that we understand the difference between a minor oopsie, and a post with more than say, five.

and.... spellcheck does not catch errors like "their" vs "there" <<<<<<because thats grammar maybe??>>>>

I wonder if NHC spell checks their stuff....I am betting they do. it's a little thing called "credibility".....
There is a little thing called respect too. There is also a great PM function on the board. Just food for thought. BTW enlighten me on what you me by we are too P/C. Thanks.

Thank you...I won't give up. Just have to be more careful.
Even the best spellers have to use spell check ,, I know it hurt your feelings it would have me too. but like they told you keep posting and ignore the ones that have to be rude. PS I got my feelings hurt last night in the twc message boards because i referred to it as a chat room and someone name NOAAWEATHER told me in Big Cap letters it was a message board not a chat room. It hurt my feelings but i still go over there.

Rainband, I am trying to convey that since this is a wide ranging message board, we are going to see some weird posts and some of these will be met with a differing opinion.

Being an honest person, I like to call BS if and when it needs to be called. But some people here do not wish to step on toes so they try to defend things like the forecasts and grammer errors in the original post in this thread.

There is a difference between healthy debate and flat out flaming. As we all should know by now....

I would never sting someone just to be a jerk, but I certainly expect to have the ability to disagree or object to something, as long as I am contributing something. I happen to have a problem with someone who is too lazy to spellcheck or otherwise proof their grammar.

Hahahahaha...I know you must have spelled "grammar" wrong on purpose...otherwise, this diatribe about spelling errors is absolutely hilarious!

By the way, the grammar and spelling on this board is absolutely atrocious...I've never commented, however, because I'm assuming the ones who don't know the difference between "and" and "in" must be learning English as a second language. (Oops, I guess I just broke my own rule!!) :D

Heh.

But I fully understand your point. I've had some fun attempting to decipher certain commentary in the past. :D :D
