The 93 No Name is the one I'm thinking of. I guess I'll have my weather radios on non stop tommorrow.

That would be the March Superstorm. Unbelieveable Derecho you guys experienced (as well as tornadic activity)

Actually No.. Mine was from February 22nd-23rd 1998..

We had all the elements coming together, tremendous instability, incredible wind shear, an approaching cold front and BOOM!

If I remember the numbers correctly, 3 F2's 2 F 3's.. 1 borderline F 4 {the 1 that destroyed my house} and 2 F 1's..

Yeah, I remember hearing about the 98 outbreak there. Both that and 93 were memorable in their own right.

93 was more memorable for the derecho, as I mentioned in my response to johngatlfla

BTW, the cell in Palm Beach County is weakening. There are some cells worth watching in Highlands and Okeechobee Counties though. Still, the best tornado threat should not begin in later tomorrow, but another warning or two is possible tonight.

SPC Mesoanalysis shows pockets of strong instability, but shear not particularly impressive as the circulation of Wilma still well Southwest.

SBCAPES in the 2000-4000 k/kg range, but 0-3 km shear less than 50 m2/s2. VERY marginal shear. I'm surprised something can even actually spin in the environent, despite the stronger instability.

The shear parameters will change GREATLY tomorrow though.

Well not "totally", but the chance is very small.

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about. Current NWS radar out of Miami is showing nothing in Palm Beach

I say the situation was largely ephemeral.

Read the post times. The tornado warning was OVER TWO HOURS AGO!!

Did you really think we were making this all up or something? Or that the NWS was?

We had a heck of alot of tornado warnings around Baton Rouge for Rita, some were real and some were not. Our local meterologist was explaining on the news during that storm that the tornado warnings are called even though there is not a definate tornado. Almost like he was saying get ready for alot of false alarms. He said something like during a storm like that if it looks even close to being a possible tornado they will call a warning. The clouds are moving so fast they have no choice but to call one. As I have said to everyone I know in that area, Good luck, get out and we are praying for all of you!!!!
