Sounds like you are well prepared, so don't be too scared. A little fear and nervousness is normal and, honestly, quite healthy! If you're worried about tornadoes, the weather radio with batteries and an alert is absolutely necessary. Also, you might want to have a safe room. I, too, am terrified of hurricane-spawned tornadoes (Cindy had us in the hallway this past summer!). Just determine what room or closet is safest in your home and put pillows, blankets, water, and such in there so if you end up staying in there a while you'll be set. And know that lots of folks are thinking about y'all down there and praying for your safety.

Them NOAA radios is excitin!

Last year wif Hurricane Francis, it was excitin to be a lyin in bed and hearing the wind roaring and the tree limbs knunkin on the roof and then the NOAA radio would go off with that tornado alarm a blaring, and the radio feller would interupt the regular broadcast an say a tornado wuz a commin my way!

You would hear the wind start to increase an wonder if this was the real McCoy and wud think how you would look on TV a tellin yore storm story for the Weather Channel, and then it would die off.

Just as you were bout to doze off, that radio would start blaring that alarm again and another tornado was on the way!

Lordy, that happened 4 times that nite an we never got hit by one!

A NOAA radio sure makes a hurricane more excitin!
