bump

Wondering, why isn't Frances, Ivan, or Jeanne on here? Luis in 1995 and Edouard in 1996 had nice eyes also.

I just can't decide, honestly. Clearly it is between Wilma and Katrina IMO, just in different respects. Wilma was so perfect with the insanely low pressure, yet Katrina just looked so vicious and full of raw power, I think it's a tie.

Good question...there are many great eyes, but, the best I've seen in some time belongs to Hurricane Katrina.

Crop that picture, shrink it or remove it. It is really nice, but it messing up the posts on this entire page. The posts are being stretched out so you have to keep scrolling to read them all.

Or maybe its F5's link that's doing it... that link runs across the entire screen and I bet the webpage doesn't know how to chop it up to place on two lines.

CHRISTY: Great pics, but please do not hotlink them, use a hyperlink instead.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
F5: Use hypertext instead of copying and pasting entire URL's.

Here's your link in hypertext:
I love her buzzsaw appearance even though she caused alot of damage (click here to see the image)

And here's how I did it:

Code: Select all

Here are some 250m vis images from MODIS, cropped to show just the eye:

DENNIS:

ISABEL:

IVAN:

KATRINA:

RITA:

WILMA:

^^ WILMA ^^

All images are the same resolution, meaning that each pixel represents a 250x250m square.
Therefore, all images are the same scale -- you can pretty much directly compare the sizes of the eyes.

** EDIT: Can we PLEASE break up the link provided by f5? This causes the screen to scretch horizontally massively (we must scroll left/right)!
