I just don't see how temps near the water will get into the lower 50s - I bet they are overdoing the cooldown. It just doesn't feel capable of getting that chilly....the sun is now too strong.

My bet is lows *might* hit 57-59 around Mia. Beach, briefly, at the early morning minimum.

Way inland, with an offshore flow, all bets are off...who knows. Sometimes the temp. difference between the beach and the middle of the Everglades can be quite substantial...I think this will be one of those occasions.

This has been an odd winter season for us. It hasn't been particularly cold, but it has been prolonged. It started in the wake of Hurricane Wilma, with an unseasonably strong cold front in late October....and now we just had an unseasonably strong cold front in late March.

Meanwhile, December, January, and February were not all that chilly. We had a few decent shots of cold air in February, but they were short-lived. None of those cold air masses lasted as long as the one in October post-Wilma, or this one in late March.

I thought last year was more prolonged. We got into the 40's well into April.

Yeah - now it truly looks like it is done. But you never know. We've occasionally seen April frontal passages that cool things down briefly...but high pressure seems to have a major stranglehold on our weather right now.
