People sure tuned in for the last half-hour(when the stunt actually happened).
At 8pm, "Deal or No Deal" kicked off NBC with a 8.6/14 (4.0). "King of Queens" took a 5.4/9 (2.6) for CBS and FOX took a 5.2/9 (3.6) for "Prison Break." The ABC Special "David Blaine: Drowned Alive" took a 4.7/8 (2.6) and right on its tail, the WB with series finale of "7th Heaven," 4.5/7 (2.5). UPN trailed with a 1.7/3 (1.0) for "One on One."
At 8:30, "Deal or No Deal" blew up to a 10.6/16 (5.4). "Prison Break" took a 5.9/9 (4.2) for FOX, and CBS took a 5.4/8 (2.8) for "How I Met Your Mother." WB's "7th Heaven" took its final thirty minutes on the air with a 5.1/8 (3.1) ahead of "Blaine," 4.9/8 (3.0). "All of Us" took a 2.0/3 (1.2).
9pm saw "Two and a Half Men" take a 9.8/14 (4.7) ahead of "24," 8.2/12 (5.7). ABC wasn't too far behind as their "Blaine" special took a 6.9/10 (4.8). NBC took fourth with "Apprentice," 6.5/10 (3.7). The WB took a 3.1/4 (1.7) for "Everwood," and UPN, a 2.4/4 (1.7) for "Girlfriends."
"24" on FOX took a 8.3/12 (5.8) and the ABC and CBS shows "David Blaine" (6.0) and "Old Christine" (3.7) tied with a 8.1/12. "Apprentice" took a 6.3/9 (3.8) ahead of "Everwood," 2.6/4 (1.4). UPN closed the night with "Girlfriends," 2.6/4 (1.9).
That 6.0 in the demo is particularly impressive... it even beat 24!
