I think the best cold front was the one that followed Wilma. It was horrible with no power but at least you were able to tolerate it. It was nice and cool unlike after Charley.

Orlando should go down to 66F behind this front...Tampa down to 67F...Jacksonville down to 58F...and Tallahasee down to 52F! Pretty decent drop for a September front!

BTW: The above numbers are lows NOT highs. lol.

Wow, 52 in Tallahassee? That's insane. I'm probably going there for college, so I would find such temps in September very different than here.

Grey overcast and clouds with a steady west wind (will turn any storm).

Yeah, its nice to get down to say the mid-60s at night (people in the other 49 states would laugh at that!). The first front will dry us out for a couple of days but the rainy season climatologically doesn't end until Oct 11. Look for the heat and humidity to return by late weekend. Next front probably won't make it through now according to long range forecast.

Yes I agree that was the only saving grace after Wilma. Not a cloud in the sky, temp. about 65 during the day and no electric.......what a mix!!

I'm getting tired of seeing this type of thread when there's many weeks left in hurricane season.

Personally I don't think that the season is near over. The Western Caribbean and NW Caribbean is where I will focus my attention.

How is this front supposed to be massive if it will barely drop the temps into the 70s? :?:

the GFS surprisingly brings a cyclone into South Florida in about 10-15 days from the east....I could have spoken too soon. We need to monitor it.
A hit from the east would really surprise me though for this late in the season.

Also, this "cold front" did nothing to change the weather here. Still very warm and sticky here in Boca Raton in Palm Beach. :grr:

Well, It's still pretty warm out, but it's a bright, clear sky ...

And I saw a Red Shouldered Hawk this morning! Now that's a sure sign that fall is on its way. 8-)

In Sept and Oct these fronts are just humidity dropping fronts not even cold fronts down here. Still the high will be 90F.
