I would hate to see a storm like Tip in the GOM and come ashore anywheres in Louisiana, because that would change the shape of Louisiana forever. The coast line would probably be a couple miles in, the salt water intrusion would do so much damage to the crops and fresh water areas. The damage that would happen would be horrific and would take decades to fix. The lose of life will be in the thousands, due to the fact that people would not know how far inland the evacuation would need to be.
Since it has been over 2 years since Rita/Katrina has hit and there is still damage and looks like it will be many years until all damage is done and everything is normal.

The Atlantic can't support a hurricane of Tip's size. There ain't enough water! The Atlantic has its big and little hurricanes. Charley's hurricane windfield could just about fit inside Katrina or Wilma's large eyes.......MGC
