Air temperature anomalies for Croatia in January 2012

The analysis of air temperature anomalies for January 2012 reveals that average monthly temperatures in Croatia were mostly above the multi-anual average (1961-1990), except several areas of the northern Adriatic and its hinterland and some areas of the middle and southern Adriatic with negative anomalies. Corresponding air temperature anomalies were within the range from -1.0 °C to 3.3 °C.
According to percentile classification, thermal conditions in Croatia for January 2012 have been described by following two categories. Northern, central and eastern Croatia belong to the category warm while the remaining part of Croatia belongs to the category normal.



Precipitation amounts for Croatia in January 2012

An analysis of precipitation amounts for January 2012 given in percentages (%) of 1961-1990 average, shows that these precipitation amounts were below the mentioned average. Corresponding precipitation amounts for January 2012 were within the range from 11 % to 77 % of multi-annual average for this month.
According to percentile classification, precipitation amounts for January 2012 have been described by following categories: normal (eastern Croatia and an area of the middle Adriatic), very dry (some areas of the northern and middle Adriatic, several areas in the hinterland, an area of north-western Croatia as well as an island of the southern Adriatic) and dry (the remaining part of Croatia).
