Best looking wind field I've seen yet with this system, winds being found above 50kts in the NE quadrant.

Wow,impressive pics. What the new times have brought that now they can send tweets about the progress of the missions.

Chris, your images are putting the rest of us to shame. The visible overlay with the slight touch of colored IR is one of the best I've seen. :)

I try to use the NRL visible imagery from the KML link in left col here:
http://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/TC.html
For big images.

Closeup, I use the floater imagery that I have to position each time the floater moves:
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/floaters.html

With visible and AVN and sometimes something else. Add the AVN on top with a very light alpha. Add in NHC track, maybe some past points.

If I have alpha on visible too, I use a NASA image background I created:

Look at the rain rate on those 56 SFMR readings...28! Definitely rain inflated...looks closer to 48 knots or so, I think 50 knots is a good match.

Shouldn't the next mission have taken off already or about to?

Takeoff for Teal73 was supposed to be 12:30 edt - but no HDOBs yet.

Usually they start sending right at takeoff, but sometimes they're late starting.
