FWIW I think just over 24 hours ago the forecast low for DFW airport was 27. IMBY it's 22. WAPP has forecast of 25

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if the Arctic front comes through as early as Thursday night or early Friday at least up here

We all know how the models are too slow with them. The end of the 6z Euro is already trying to get it in here Friday

I see temps as low as 9 near the Red River, 14 seems to be the low for NETX, cities across N and E TX are low 20s. This was far from the big Arctic front.

The arctic region known as central Georgia is getting some thick heavy flakes this morning.

Right I grew up near there and it's crazy to see it two years in a row like this. Usually way harder over there

In both cases my parents were less than an hour away from a snowstorm

Had another freeze. Still below freezing in Tomball/Hooks.

If it isn't going to snow I'd prefer 80F every day.

It's below freezing in Houston. Someone needs to make a welfare check on Wxman57!

Meh not really. AI GFS definitely is but Euro keeps most of it NE and modifies it a good deal as it heads south into Texas.

It’s the coldest by far, 5 day anomalies of 15F below normal

For the first time in a really long time, the 00z Euro EPS has the mean below normal for an extended period. It also has some extreme cold outliers, with a small cluster that keeps DFW below freezing for 9 days.

The 6Z GFS shows a classic overrunning winter storm over the state. And the 6Z Euro now breaks out freezing rain in North Texas at hour 144.

I'm beginning to feel a little encouraged. Larry Cosgrove is bullish for an active mid-January through February period, with quite a bit of cold weather.

What little rain chances we have this week seem to be dwindling. No surprise, dry warmth or dry cold, doesn't matter. My backyard has August like cracks.
