Big training rain event ongoing across portions of south central Texas this morning! Some parts of SA have already seen over 6 inches of rain, and we still have more on the way!

Well all the rain skipped my area ended up with a quarter of an inch last night. Far cry from the 4 plus inches NWS was predicting.

Huge flash flooding event for SA metro overnight, where widespread 4-5"+ totals were recorded last night.

New Braunfels airport apparently recorded 3" in 30 minutes.

Flash flood alley definitely living up to its namesake the last 8 hours or so.

As South Texas Storms mentioned above a heavy rain event occurred overnight across SC TX including the San Antonio metro with 6-9 inches of rain across the area. We still have more on radar developing as I type this.

Unfortunately the concern I had a few days ago about too much of a good thing in a short period of time became reality with 65 water rescues, 13 cars swept away and 4 fatalities confirmed with some still unaccounted for per SAPD and SAFD.

In addition we did have a tornado warning last night with some video of a possible tornado (certainly a funnel) across NW SA. A confirmed tornado was reported near Wimberly west of San Marcos.

Wild night/overnight but another reminder just how fast weather can change especially down here in flash flood alley in a few short hours.

Very hefty totals in South Central Texas and the Coastal Bend. Some localized spots have received over 10 inches of rain! We’re going into Summer with moist soils for most of the state. Expecting higher humidity due to evaporation, but this should help the death ridge to move around and now stay parked over us hopefully.

I wonder if Leon Valley was where the fatality floodings were. There is a creek there that overflows pretty easily.

Hopefully everyone got their fair share as the pattern will be shifting to a drier, and warmer stretch. Sonoran ridge over the SW with extreme heat will flex and troughing in the Pac NW. We will probably rise to near normal and less disturbed weather heading into the solstice.

Yep the dry Summer pattern is on it's way and you can clearly see the pattern coming in the data.Hang in there folks, in about 2 ½ months meteorological Fall will be here before you know it. At least in the mid range the sea breeze looks to be active though for those along the coast.

Not too bad considering we're almost through June

What an incredible rain event across SA last night. Looks like the second wettest June day in recorded history with over 6 inches at the airport.

Yeah the southern half of the state should see near to above normal rainfall over the next few weeks. Could see a surge of tropical moisture lift northward into south Texas late next week possibly bringing another risk of locally heavy rainfall.

Yep the sea breeze looks to become active down there. Also a tropical wave or low may also enhance moisture next week. It's that time of year where the heaviest rains start to shift to the coastal areas of the state.

Flood Warning for the cells developing along I-10 from the E side of the Houston metro towards Louisiana. Even a brief tornado warning.

It looks like the Euro is back to being wet again for a good portion of the state.

Depends where you’re located, but the Euro shows daily storm chances for much of the state for the next couple weeks.
