right now, the pattern is not even conducive for tropical waves to emerge into the Atlantic. The big wave that everyone was excited about RECURVED INTO THE SAHARA. Until the trough over WA moves away, nothing is even going to make it into the Atlantic

Derek I have to agree. I will add that I haven't seen conditions this hostile in the MDR in mig August in quite sometime.
Although before we all claim victory this year -- its only Aug 7th. Alot can change in a couple of weeks as we approach the climatological peak.

This is garbage from the GFS model especially when its 384hrs out in time...That far out the skill level of any particular model is very poor.
