Punt until they have recon is what it seemed like to me there, which given the situation with the center, is probably the best thing to do.

Yes I am in Nassau County, Island Park to be exact. Suffolk County may get the brunt of this out east, but even sustained ts winds during high tide would be more than enough to cause a lot of issues here.

I have 2 kids and their families in Brooklyn. My son is pretty near LaGuardia and my daughter in Bay Ridge and she is pretty near the coast. What can they

It's a valid question but it's still too early to know for sure. Meaning, it could range from nothing at all to hurricane force conditions but that would be less likely. Best thing to do is to stay tuned and up to date. No reason to make or change any immediate plans. Circumstances and longer range storm track will start to become more clear in 2-3 days.

Hipshot, it is way too early to speculate that. I'm sorry, but it's going to take a few more days before speculations of impact can really be given.

Yeah, they kicked the can down the road on that one. Just not enough solid information to make any substantial changes. They'll wait for fresh recon and see what it looks like once it clears the coast and gathers back some steam.
