yep, its like the lowest populated area

It's also the mysterious area in which the book and film Annihilation takes place, so hopefully the alien presence there remains contained.

Lemme guess. You wanted to embed that video instead of just posting its link and gave up in utter frustration after pulling your hair out. Right? Been there, done that.

https://youtu.be/JXoJM5FaDqY

The trick is to start the URL that's wrapped in the YouTube tags with https://youtu.be/ and then add the video ID after the trailing slash. In this instance, the video ID is JXoJM5FaDqY. So, the full URL to place between the YouTube tags is https://youtu.be/JXoJM5FaDqY (just like it appears below the embedded video above).

Man, I can't even figure out how to add an image

Did some dingbat actually request the GOES 16 meso to move over New England?

It did this last night as well. They are repositioning the floater, which apparently involves more than just simply adjusting the location.

That's why I use Klystron9

It comes out of Tampa, but can zoom out to go anywhere

Not urban but some areas look very similar to Mexico Beach. Depends on exactly where it comes ashore.

FWIW, I go up here to do some astrophotography from time to time... literally some of the darkest skies in the entire state as there's no light pollution. Make of that what you will.

Yep, just a few fish camps and WMAs. Even St Marks feels a bit otherwordly, compared to the rest of Fl panhandle.

Hwy 98 all the way from PCB to Tampa is a very nice (albeit long) drive, quiet and mostly empty.

Looks like a pretty potent band will be rotating onshore the Tampa/St.Pete area in the next hour or two. Some of those cells look very nasty.

SW eyewall drop has major hurricane force winds (gusts) not too far above the surface

On Ryan Hall Yall's youtube live stream just now, one of his storm chasers reported speaking to a State Trooper in Cedar Key. Apparently at least 30 people refuse to leave and evacuate. And the water has receded 5 to 8 feet already.

During the night lapse rates will increase due to upper tropospheric cooling.

Only COD is having this issue. I think it moved over to meso 2.

I mean, she's certainly strengthening but this is far from the worst case scenario. Eye is still quite ragged and the winds haven't exactly exploded, landfall isn't that far away anymore.

RI has to start somewhere it doesn't fast forward so I'd say 3mb drop in an hour is a good start.

Worked out the dry air unfortunately.
Can even see the eye in the water vapor loop.
That first squall line moved the branches enough to take my power out in Pinellas county.
Sanibel Island experienced something similar recently, and tornadoes are not fun at all.
Official track is between Tallahassee and Jacksonville so they will have a tougher time than Tampa Bay.

And it's back, after taking a trip up the east coast. Repositioned further north.

Significant Tornado Potential area is expanding and just off shore south of Tampa Bay.
Tampa needs to watch this closely as a strong, large band rotates inland

Yeah. We posted the county totals this am. So for immediate coastal hurricane impacts it’s a lot different than if it would be hitting somewhere more dense. Tallahassee and Valdosta I think are the closest population centers. Lake City has some people there too but you’re talking less than 20k overall.

Spiral bands forming on radar. Eyewall looking much more impressive on radar over the last hour or two.
