Still enjoying the nice unseasonably warm weather? Enjoy it while it lasts, because it's gonna get cooler as another cold front sweeps into the region, bringing chances of rain and thunderstorms throughout most of the week...especially on Friday where yet another arctic front will move in. Also Tonight, the entire North Texas region is under a slight risk of severe thunderstorms with large hail as the main threat.

Earlier this morning, a huge line of thunhderstorms that developed along a cold front has swept through the region. And yes, most of the storms turned severe with large hail, wind gusts of up to 60 MPH, and cloud to ground lightning. Then from today thru Thursday, we'll see some mild weather with highs in the 50s & 60s and lows in the 30s & 40s...but then on Friday, guess what? Another arctic front blows through with more showers and thunderstorms. Will this be Old Man Winter's Final Blow? We'll know by March.

The mild weather continues...but not before we have a freezing morning. In the next 48 hours, we'll see highs in the 60s to 70s with mostly sunny skies. From Friday to the weekend...well, I'll let the NWS tell you that.

NWS - Fort Worth wrote:...MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES AND POSSIBLE WINTRY PRECIPITATION
EXPECTED BY FRIDAY AND INTO THIS WEEKEND...

AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH NORTH TEXAS THURSDAY NIGHT
BRINING MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES...GUSTY NORTH WINDS...AND
PRECIPITATION. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES WILL RISE INTO THE LOWER 70S
ON THURSDAY WITH THE FRONT EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO NORTH TEXAS
THURSDAY NIGHT. TEMPERATURES BEHIND THE FRONT WILL DROP 25 TO 35
DEGREES INTO THE LOW TO MID 30S. IN ADDITION...AREAS OF RAIN AND
EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY DEVELOP LATE THURSDAY NIGHT.
WIDESPREAD RAIN AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY CONTINUE
ON AND OFF ACROSS NORTH TEXAS THROUGH THE DAY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN IN THE 30S DURING THE DAY FRIDAY AND FOR
MOST OF THE DAY SATURDAY. SOME PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS COULD RECEIVE
2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR OR SLIGHTLY BELOW FREEZING EARLY FRIDAY
MORNING AND AGAIN LATE FRIDAY NIGHT MAINLY WEST OF A GAINESVILLE
TO WEATHERFORD TO COMANCHE LINE. SOME LIGHT FREEZING RAIN IS
POSSIBLE DURING THESE TIMES ALTHOUGH BETTER RAIN CHANCES APPEAR TO
BE FARTHER SOUTH AND EAST.

RESIDENTS OF NORTH TEXAS SHOULD MONITOR THIS DEVELOPING WEATHER
SITUATION CLOSELY. STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR GO TO

Anybody enjoying the mild days? Well, enjoy them while they last, because by early tomorrow, a strong cold front will slide through North Texas, and behind it, a strong upper level storm is gonna bring some heavy rain and thunderstorms. Light rain will be falling on Friday, however, much heavier rainfall is expected to fall all day Saturday. The good news is that the temperatures will stay above freezing...for the immediate DFW area anyways.

Until that time, we're under a Wind Advisory. Winds will be blowing at a 20-30 MPH range, with isolated wind gusts of up to 40 MPH. A Western 1/3rd of the region is under a RED FLAG WARNING, with a combination of high winds and low humidity levels.

The cold front has not yet passed through the region at the time I'm typing this report. Temperatures remain in the mild readings, but in a few hours, all that will change. In the next 48 hours, we'll see showers and thunderstorms...some severe and with possibly heavy rainfall this Saturday. The highs will be in the 50s (which is some good news), but y'all may wanna bring your coats when lows are in the 30s to 40s. The good news is we'll be warming up by next Wednesday.

All this week, we'll have semi-normal weather...temperature-wise, but otherwise, we'll have another dreary period from Tuesday Night to Friday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the entire region.

The weather is getting a little warmer in the North Texas region...but not if a cold front comes sliding through the area on Thursday Night, bringing showers and thunderstorms. The good news is that severe weather is not expected...unlike last week.

Hmm...seems that the weather is not gonna be as cold as predicted in the past 48 hours. Highs will be up & down from the 50s to 70s with a definite chance of rain tonight through tomorrow. I could be wrong about the temperatures, but we'll just wait and see what happens.

Aww man, we didn't see the Lunar Eclipse last night due to overcasting skies. Another disappointment is that a cold front has already swept through and temperatures have already dropped. We'll see some showers and thunderstorms throughout the day (no severe weather is expected), followed by a nice and mild weekend, followed by yet another cold front on Monday Night.

After 24 hours of cold and damp weather, everything seems to be warming up...but don't put away your jackets just yet, we should expect a few cold nights here and there before Spring could officially begin. The good news is that any rain...if we're expecting any shouldn't be heavy.

This is the beginning of the week and we're already starting it off with nicer temperatures...but nice weather coms with a price: high winds and lower humidity levels. Which is why a RED FLAG WARNING is in effect for the entire North Texas region for high fire danger. We'll expect a strong cold front tomorrow thaqt will plummett highs down to the 560s and lows near freezing. After that, things should return to normal.

The weather may be cooler, but the fire danger isn't put out. High wilnds and low humidity levels have kept a RED FLAG WARNING in place for the entire North Texas region. Already, there was a grassfire in Young County. That has since then been cordened off or contained. We'll expect the same up & down weather throughout the first week of March.

The winds have died down, but the fire danger isn't over with yet. Although no fire weather alerts have been posted, residents northwest of a Kileen, Corsicana, and Emory line should take heed as if under a Red Flag Warning. Otherwise, we're continuing to see mild temperatures throughout next week. Will this morning be Old Man Winter's final blow, or will he stay throughout spring?

The fire danger still lingers around the North Texas region as high winds continue to blow in that region. We'll likely to stay this way until Sunday Night when a strong cold front sweeps through with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms...but we have cooler temperatures on Monday. This will likely by Ol' Man Winter's final blow----or will it?

The fire danger is low...but don't get too comfortable. Low humidity levels will still fuel grassfires. However, a chance of rain from Sunday to Monday may dampen the grounds and moisten the atmosphere. Afterwards, Old Man Winter will take his final blow from Monday on before Spring officially begins.

This is the first week of March. Many of us were enjoying the nice weather yesterday, but a strong cold front came sweeping through the area along with a strong line of severe thunderstorms. Tornado Watch #89 continues in effect for the eastern and southeastern areas of North Texas until 9:00AM CST, and a Flash Flood Watch also goes in effect until Noon CST. Don't be surprised if some snow is mixed in tonight. Accumulations are expected, but more likely to occur in Northwestern sections of the region. Otherwise, any accumulations at all in DFW will be less than 1 inch in grassy areas.
