What storm was it that started off way west in the Gulf and with each run keep going east? I think it was Ernesto and went up the middle of Fl to NC

WHAO! I know this is off topic, but look at the hurricane that the CMC takes to Florida! That's a new track.

Isn't it fun watching all the phamtom cyclones the various models spin up. I wonder how many times we would be through the alaphabet by now if the models were correct if only half the time. I guess since there are no real storms at least we can track ghosts.....MGC

The GFS has performed exceptional in 2007. The CMC will always be kind of crazy but overall I think the models have shown great improvement. I can not recall a single time this year the GFS has consistently shown a tropical storm and it did not form. Can you?

will have to disagree at this point... all of the globals show development of this system.. in the past, when they all showed development, you can count on it....

it's hard to take the models seriously when they initialize a category 4 hurricane as a broad area of low pressure, yet form cat 7s out of nothing

i dont disagree with that... however, all the globals show it... in past times, that is a good sign that development is likely... no matter how strong, development is likely... just my observations in the past...
