Looks like a front is approaching from the west, however notice its North to South alignment which normally means a slow mover if it ever makes it to the SE. So I could see Fay getting pushed back west by the ridge coming down and into the Gulf then turning NW landfalling somewhere between Miss thru the Panhandle as she gets caught up in the flow out ahead of that front.

GFS also has this on the coast for nearly 24 more hours!!! I am not so sure that will be the case...

I am not buying this solution yet as well. If it were to pan out Florida becomes Atlantis.

I just don't see her creeping so slow...I do buy the trough picking her up.

I'm assuming the trough picking her up will take her through the interior Southeast as subsequent time points roll in here. Amazing to think that one storm could singlehandedly end the drought for the ENTIRE southeast from FL on up.

Confidence may be low in that track, but the trend of the models is the interesting part. What run is next, I need more!

I don't buy the extremely slow motion over FL either. At 60 hours it's where it's at now. :double:

Wrong. The 12z GFS shows Fay off the central florida coast well before then.

It would be great news for Georgia and N.C. I live north of Charlotte. We need rain BAD up here.

I just thought I'd check in, is this system going to possibly threaten the MS Gulf Coast at some point or will it end along the FL panhandle or further to the east? Feedback appreciated.
