Can I just say again how cool these deejays are?

The worse the weather, the calmer they seem to be.

Oh, so people want to wait until roofs have been BLOWN OFF until they decide to head to a shelter.

true canegrl -- and that isn't even the gusts.... we will be witnessing a tragedy tonight through a method that wasn't before possible -- we may tell our children/grandchildren about this someday.

If the feed stays up and the radio station stays up, these phone calls are only going to get worse, the stories only will get worse, and the fear in the voices of everyone will become more evident.

No one from Kingston on east should be heading out to a shelter now. The worst of it has passed for them.

Those on the western tip (Negril, Montego Bay) probably have time, and should get somewhere safe.

I dunno if I agree with that the worst has passed (though I agree it's a little late for anyone to go to a shelter)..they are in the 'northwest' quad...usually the worst of the storm? no?

3900 persons in shelters in St.Mary (on the North coast), lots of shelters and haouses have lost their roofs. People are asked to conserve their food and water, as it isn't sure when there will be new supplies. Some roads partially blocked. No landlines, no cbs working. Inundations.

Is the eye still forecast to cross the island? Lots of roads closed/blocked.... It's going to be a very long night. Let's hope that all people, especially all of those who had the foresight to get to a shelter will be safe.

Women's carport is destroyed with car inside. Her house is having water leaks through the roof. And she is chirpy on the phone.
