Wake me up if the blue (snow) reaches Bexar.
You might be hibernating for a while then. Not that kind of airmass.

UKMET bringing the cold. Definitely will push much faster further south with those numbers if accurate

That would break all time records. ETA: my bad. Thought it was Celsius.

Re: Texas Winter 2025-2026
I think there's a chance I'm too far north for the truly historic totals but wow seeing the GFS uptrend and the Euro still consistent it's gonna be interesting to see how close we get. We still got 3 days haha. Nothing would surprise me at this point. The potential of this storm is just wow
This was my point about the GFS earlier. The Euro has been way more hyped up for the most part up here. I wasn't trying to start an argument I was just making an observation
A lot of people have been downplaying or skeptical because of the GFS

I can live with the GFS. It's the least bad of al the other solutions for DFW...

And now their is starting to be a signal in ensembles for yet another storm system around the 30th with more arctic air coming down to reinforce this first arctic dump, I cant recall the last time ive seen a pattern like this down here, absolutely crazy

EURO was actually somewhat cooler with the warm nose between 850mb and 700mb.

The real problem though is not the temp in the warm layer, but apparently how deep it might be.
If it's talking temps that are a sold 1-3*C celsius from 850mb to 700mb (which is an entire 5,000ft), snow aloft is simply not going to survive that trip
That said, on the plus side, it does leave the window open for more sleet as a worst case scenario. Would still suck, but far less damaging and far fewer power outages.

It's crazy we can't get a drop of rain but here we are getting ready for a winter storm for the ages. I love it. Ready for El Nino and all it's givings.

The flip is just amazing. I mean I was watching Saturday night as Florida got snow again wondering if we would ever get one haha. There was hardly any support for this at that point. Certainly nothing like what is being modeled now
The Euro has 8 inches of snow here and has been all over this storm here for 2 days. This is crazy
