Are any models predicting a quicker push of cold air for Friday? If the precip holds off until later in the day, and we get a quicker push of cold air, wouldn't our chances to see some wintry precip be better? I know there is more to it, like the track of the low, etc.

The trend on the NAM certainly looks good for a surprise winter storm. i'm thinking we get a cold rain at first, and then transition to snow.
