Bay County Officials where begging for help yesterday from the National Media to focus on telling people to evacuate immediately. The County stated that many refused to heed the warnings and they were extremely concerned and rightly so.

If the current speed is maintained to landfall, the northern eyewall will approach the coast around 1PM ET.

Tyndall AFB or Allanton could be ground zero. If Michael wobbles westward over Panama City we may see scenes like a nuclear bomb went off there.

It looks like there are 100kt winds to the left of the center, and given a meso vortice can swing around the eyewall at any time it may not help PC that much.

Now it comes down to wobbles whether downtown Panama City gets the storm surge or not. Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe and Apalachicola is not looking good.

While this may make it to 150, I think the time for updates to strength are coming to a close. It really does no good to up it at 11 since there is nothing that can be done about it. Fortunately it is nearly out of time and the die have already been cast.

Somehow the satellite appearance has improved quite a bit in the last 30 minutes.

That is devastating. We can only hope some of them changed their minds last night and overnight as Michael strengthened.

I know this isn't a major focus because Michael is an absolute monster, but I am concerned up here in North Carolina.

No schools at all have closed. Not to mention thousands of homes with tarps on their roofs.

Most models show 60mph gusts reaching Central and Eastern NC. Some even 70+.

Michael is going to have some extremely widespread impacts across multiple states.
