March is Denver's snowiest month on average, and I bet it's the snowiest month on average for the majority of colorado. Snow in March is usually a lot heavier and I'd say shoveling 6" of March snow is equivalent to shoveling 18" of December snow. You can also make snowmen in March which just doesn't happen easily with the Winter snow because it is so dry.
The following table shows how much snow Denver gets on a per Month basis. March is the snowiest month followed by November. Interestingly enough, February is only the 6th snowiest month.
