Got very lucky. Storm went more to the north, and I think the tornado lifted before it hit Huntsville proper. But that was scary. It was also the first time I actually talked to my neighbors lol

Re: 2025 Severe Weather
Went through my first tornado emergency on Tuesday evening. I was the first person in the safest space of the aparment with my helmet. The other one was a storm chaser lol. He was like "oh my God" looking at the radar and seeing it move right towards us.

Also here is Reed Timmer shooting a probe into the tornado and then the tornado hits him. It's like he made it mad:

Re: 2025 Severe Weather
Got the Arnett, Oklahoma tornado back on May 18. Tied with Keota, IA 2023 for by far the best tornado footage I've ever captured, but in a much different way (tall, skinny tornado gorgeously backlit vs. debris-filled dusty wedge moving at highway speed).

Re: 2025 Severe Weather: ...Enderlin Tornado #1 Upgraded to EF-5...
Wow the 12+ year drought without a tornado causing EF5 damage is finally over. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that also ties the 2011 El Reno/Piedmont, OK tornado for the highest official damage indicator rating since the EF scale was implemented (greater than 210mph).

Re: 2025 Severe Weather: ...Enderlin Tornado #1 Upgraded to EF-5...
I'm now imagining something like in the movie Pacific Rim where the giant mecha drags a tanker ship along and then beats some kaiju over the head with it, but with a tanker car and a tornado character fighting...something??? (ngl I would have enjoyed Twisters a lot more if it was tornado vs kaiju lol)

To add to this, here is the train derailment that led to the EF5 rating

I'm very surprised they used contextuals for an EF5 rating but I'm all for it. I think they need to be used more often. Probably won't happen, but I'd be interested to see if they ever go back and reevaluate previous tornadoes over the last several years for a potential upgrade. Mayfield, Rolling Fork, and probably a few others would certainly qualify IMO

Re: 2025 Severe Weather
SPC outlines a Day-6 slight risk area from extreme NE TX to southern Illinois/Indiana.
