This ought to be a reminder to those who were bashing forecaster Franklin at the National Hurricane Center.

In the first forecast on this system, he called for the eventual demise of Chris near the Bahamas. Many on this board were critical of his forecast.

We should always remember that no forecaster has all the answers.

Yep...and when some of us were suggesting yesterday that he didn't look good on satellite...you would think we were calling their kids ugly.

Seriously. I think we will see some bursting now that he is speeding up a bit towrds the COL. Whether it is enough to keep him alive long enough to make it to the promised land...nobody knows.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if Chris becomes a cane soon or not...All he needs to do is MAKE it to the gulf in some form, and he has a shot at becoming a big story.....so if he gets there I would be worried.

Well they did not find very high winds. This is likely a 30mph tropical depression.

The convection is so far from the center to really make a difference... its not dead, but it is so close.

It looks so wierd to see the LLC and MLC split like that. I have never seen that happen before. Looks like it will a uphill battle for Chris for the next few days, and may be the end period.

Stick a fork in it. That track was going against the norm for this time of year from the get-go...that was a late August & September type track.
