My backyard pool in Coconut Creek has enough latent heat to create hot towers

Looks like Isaias is gaining a bit more latitude now.

Can it be 5pm already? Everyone in Central FL is literally ignoring this. All my friends are saying "yeah this is going offshore into NC" this isn't Dorian FFS.....

Considering the WV right now, it might turn more NNW later this evening. I believe the Hurricane models are doing a good job so far. That ridge strength on the global runs are too suspect.

tropical systems seek warm water, expect landfall in coconut creek which wouldnt be good since I'm less than 10 miles from there..oh well, the genny is ready and I have permission from the people that count to wait until tomorrow morning to put up shutters, I'm hoping for something north of palm beach to get a shutter reprieve..anything closer and they are going up..might put a few up in the front of th house after the 5 just to scare the neighbors, will see what stacy stewart has cooked up

Anybody has a link to a site that shows the satellite loops but with the NHC forecast track overlayed on it. I loved the old style nhc satellite maps with that feature. Thanks in advance!

not sure where they are seeing this low humidity, I am seeing some RH in the 50s west of 95 so that qualifies as lower than normal

Despite the rumblings on this site and some of the models shifting west, I still think this thing will miss Florida to the east altogether. It may get within 50-100 miles at some point but I think it will stay further out as we were thinking yesterday/last night. Obviously I'm no pro and have no credentials other than lots of experience watching and paying close attention for a lot of years. And there are still a lot of models that keep this out to sea.

The high cirrus clouds continue to expand west and northwestward without much evidence of troughing out ahead of the storm.. yet..
See if there is anything new in the 5 PM.
Hopefully not the dreaded "THIS CHANGE IN THE SYNOPTIC STEERING PATTERN SHOULD"..

Oh Lord, I hate to even think of a Matthew again. We are 88 miles inland as a crow flies and we had so much damage to our home. We were fortunate though because many folks were flooded. Ours was wind blown rain. Roof damage, exterior damage and rain blown in and water running down our walls in my bedroom and our dining room. We never figured out how it did that! :?: We did go get propane this morning for our grill to.cook with and gas for our generator just in case we do have any power outage here. Not worth waiting til the last minute. We'll use the stuff either way.

I feel ya! Matt was very bad for NC. I'm actually living in central NC now, so I'm also watching this thing closely to see how far inland he decides to come here. Best of luck in your locale!
